Week 6 DraftKings Cash & Tournament Plays

Maclolm Brown is going to define the DraftKings slate in Week 6 now
that Todd Gurley has all but been ruled out. So what's the play with Brown?

It's weeks like these that can totally turn a slate upside down late in the week.

Injuries on injuries on injuries. Which, in the NFL, shouldn't really come as a surprise, since it's such a violent sport to begin with. However, this week ... this week?!? We have some injuries to major players that are going to change ownership drastically.

Read as: Time to take advantage of some of the values that have popped up like the whack-a-mole game, and spend up on guys that should be owned, that will now go overlooked.

So, about those values

  • Maclom Brown ($4,300) is looking like he's going to be the lead back for the Rams with Todd Gurley listed as doubtful after popping up on the injury report. Brown is likely going to be the most-owned player on the entire slate now. Obviously, the value is good, but don't underrate that 49ers run defense. I assume his ownership will approach 35-40 percent, and at that number, I'm OK making a stand the other direction.
  • Chase Edmunds ($4,600) could be the best value if David Johnson's back injury is bad enough to hold him out. You're going to have to wait for the news on Edmunds, so you're going to need to be around your phone or computer for the 3 p.m. games in order to late swap if necessary. If Johnson is ruled out, I'm going 100 percent Edmunds, and with the game being late, you might get him at lower ownership than he should be. For what it's worth, Edmunds is a better play than Brown if Johnson is out.
  • Latavius Murray ($3,700) is getting pumped after Alvin Kamara appeared on the injury report (of course he did, I touted him earlier this week in a column) as limited on Thursday and got a DNP on Friday with an ankle injury. I absolutely loved Kamara this week against Jacksonville, but I doubt I'll make a big pivot to Murray should Kamara not be able to go.
  • Kenyan Drake ($4,400) looks as if he's going to be the No. 1 for the Dolphins this week with only Mark Walton behind him against the Redskins. Playing any Dolphins back is a dangerous proposition in any week, but in the last three games he's averaged more than five targets a game so he's definitely best on full-PPR sites like DraftKings. He was projected to be one the highest-owned running backs on the slate early in the week, but should see a precipitous drop with all the value opening up across the slate. This might makes you want to hold your nose, but it could pay dividends.

Adell says "Hello From the Other Side"

Will Jo Adell be the latest prospect to set the league on fire upon callup? Get Ronald Acuña Jr. on your team. This should be the first step to winning every fantasy baseball league every year for the foreseeable future. However, unless you’re blessed with the top pick in your fantasy draft you’re going to have to identify the next Acuña before his meteoric rise to stardom. Last season, we saw the future of the league be turned over to prospects who even average fantasy players knew were going to be some of the best in baseball the moment they stepped onto the diamond. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Fernando Tatís Jr. and Eloy Jiménez -- those names were drummed into our heads so often we knew they were coming, like an offspeed pitch at a Houston Astros' home game. Everyone knows these players and their value is already really high just like this season Wander Frano, Luis Robert or Casey Mize are trending the moment they take the rubber or pick up a bat, so this article isn...

Madrigal Might Be More Than A "One-Hit Wonder"

Nick Madrigal could just hit his way into a prospect laden White Sox lineup (NBC Chicago) Like Morpheus searching the Matrix, I think I've finally found the one. A slappy little fast guy without any real power who is worth rostering. Nick Madrigal 2B Chicago White Sox Highest level: AAA Age: 22 ETA: Early 2020 Now most players who lack the ability to hit more than 10 home runs in a season should be left on the waiver wire, or at least be a catcher. Madrigal has found a way to transcend his inability as a hitter by maximizing what he's good at, he doesn't strikeout. Across three leagues last year, Madrigal set a minor league-low 3.3 percent strikeout rate. Additionally, he's not just a tough out -- he produced a slash line of  .331/.398/.424. After being drafted by the White Sox in 2018, Madrigal seemed advertised as a guy who was going to be an asset at the top of the lineup as a single and maybe score kind of asset. However, he took an even greater ...

Week 4 DraftKings Picks, Fades & Stacks

After a pair of tough matchups, it's looking like DeAndre Hopkins might come in with lower ownership than we're used to seeing, which could be a prime spot to jump on him in tournaments.   The Plays Kerryon Johnson, RB, $5,400 (vs. Kansas City) Pick yourself up off the floor. I know recommending Johnson comes as a shock. For as much as I've been a nonbeliever, how can I suggest playing him? Well, DraftKings pricing makes this viable. Well, that and the juicy matchup with Kansas City. This game carries a 54.5 total, with the Lions implied for 24 points. So they're not huge underdogs and implied for some feeble total like the Dolphins and Jets. If the Lions have any chance of winning this game, it seems the best avenue to that would be keeping the ball on the ground, and that means a lot of Johnson. He received 20 carries against an impressive Philadelphia run defense. Granted, he didn't do much with the carries, but he GOT them. And that's what matters. ...
